Bodorgan railway station serves the rural hamlet of the same name and the nearby village of Bethel.
The station, which was originally to be called Trefdraeth, was opened in October 1849. Today, it serves as a request stop for Chester and Holyhead-bound local trains.
The station is very much no-frills, but the surrounding area is gorgeous. Nearby, you’ll find Bodorgan Hall, the largest country estate in Anglesey. The house, dovecote and barn are Grade II listed buildings. The site occupies ‘a magnificent coastal position’ while the estate retains many of its original characteristics, including beautiful formal gardens and an expansive deer park – still in use today – while, for adrenaline junkies, it is the home of Anglesey Racing Circuit.
